As part of our Field Operations Group, we are seeking qualified and safety‐focused Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing field-based team. These positions report directly to the Superintendent, Project Delivery, or their delegated Lead, and are integral to the successful execution of our work across earthworks, road construction, clearing, reclamation, and forestry projects.

Job Description:

Heavy Equipment Operators at 4EG are responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of various types of heavy machinery on active worksites. These positions require hands- on experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Operators must be able to perform daily equipment inspections, ensure the safe working condition of machines, and support general site operations as directed. These roles may require working in remote locations under variable weather conditions and extended schedules.

Preference will be given to candidates who can operate and/or is certified to operate various combinations of Excavators, Dozers, Graders, Rock Trucks, Packers, and Bunchers, Skidders, Processors)

Key Responsibilities:

Safe Operation:

Operate heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, graders, rock trucks, loaders, and skidders) in accordance with site procedures, safety guidelines, and manufacturer specifications.

Site Support:

Work closely with site leads, Superintendents, and other operators to execute project plans including land clearing, grading, reclamation, access road building, logging, and earthmoving activities.

Equipment Inspections & Maintenance:

Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation equipment checks. Report deficiencies and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of assigned equipment.

Adherence to Safety & Environmental Protocols:

Comply with all HSE practices, hazard assessments, and site-specific regulations. Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings as required.

Team Collaboration:

Maintain clear communication with fellow team members and supervision to ensure cohesive, efficient work execution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction, mining, forestry, or related sectors.
    • Experience working in rugged terrain and remote job sites is preferred
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Demonstrated proficiency with one or more pieces of heavy
    • Ability to read and interpret site instructions, maps, or plans is an
    • Strong situational awareness and communication
  • Certification & Licensing:
    • Valid Driver’s License (Class 5 minimum; Class 1 or 3 an asset).
    • Safety certifications such as Ground Disturbance, First Aid, WHMIS, or CSTS are considered assets.
    • Equipment-specific tickets or in-house training certificates are

  • Ability to work long hours, in varying weather conditions, and in physically demanding
