Our in-house Field Operations Group manages a wide range of contracts, including earthworks, road and access construction, clearing and reclamation services for the mining, oil & gas, and forestry sectors, as well as multiple forestry logging operations.

As part of our continued growth, 4Evergreen Resources LP is seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient, and experienced Superintendent – Project Delivery to join our team. This position reports directly to the Director of Project Delivery and plays a key role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Job Description:

The Superintendent, Project Delivery, will be accountable for overseeing the activities of a specific project team, including operators, trades, support personnel, and 4EG staff. This individual will demonstrate exceptional leadership, with proven experience in managing earthworks, road construction, access roads, clearing, reclamation, and forestry logging contracts across the mining, oil and gas, and forestry sectors. Strong decision-making skills are essential to guide the team and ensure project goals are met efficiently.

Applicants must be highly organized, with a steadfast commitment to safety above all else. The Superintendent will manage on-site equipment and coordinate its maintenance to ensure safe operation. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the day-to-day execution of the project plan. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the coordination of subcontractors, material delivery, and safety protocols. The Superintendent will review and approve change orders and provide regular progress updates to the project owner. Close collaboration with clients will be essential to ensure the project is delivered on scope, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage all activities related to the project, ensuring that operators, trades, 4EG staff, and subcontractors are aligned and operating effectively. Ensure that the project meets scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Direct the work of on-site personnel, fostering a high-performance culture. Provide clear guidance, direction, and decision-making to operators, trades, and support staff.
  • Safety Leadership: Champion a strong safety culture by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety protocols and practices across all site activities. Ensure that the team adheres to both company and industry-specific safety standards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop, implement, and track the daily management of the project plan. Utilize project management tools to monitor milestones, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure the timely delivery of materials and resources.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage project management software and other relevant tools to track project progress, manage resources, and communicate effectively with both the project team and Maintain strong computer literacy and use technology to optimize efficiency and decision-making.
  • Client Relations: Work closely with clients to understand project objectives and ensure expectations are Provide regular progress reports and updates to the project owner, addressing any concerns or changes in project scope.
  • Change Order Management: Review, approve, and document any changes to the project scope, schedule, or Ensure change orders are processed accurately and efficiently, keeping the project on track.
  • Profitability Management: Take ownership of the financial aspects of the project, ensuring project profitability by managing costs, controlling expenditures, and identifying cost- saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination: Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and Manage the delivery of materials and services to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure all on-site equipment is maintained, operated safely, and utilized effectively. Take responsibility for the condition and functionality of equipment to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project management, construction supervision, or a similar leadership role within the mining, oil and gas, forestry, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing a combination of earthworks, road construction, clearing, reclamation, and forestry logging projects.
  • Strong track record of managing multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors, operators, trades, and support staff.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse teams to meet deadlines, maintain high-quality standards, and exceed safety expectations.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions while managing project activities across various phases.

Safety Leadership:

  • Strong understanding of industry-specific safety protocols and best practices, with proven experience in promoting a safety-first culture on-site.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, OSHA, or similar) are an

Technical Skills & Project Management Tools:

  • High proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Strong computer literacy, with the ability to effectively use office software (Word, Excel) and industry-specific tools for planning, reporting, and analysis.
  • Ability to leverage technology to optimize workflow, track project progress, and facilitate communication.

Financial Acumen:

  • Experience in managing project budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring
  • Ability to read and interpret project financial reports, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and adjust plans to meet financial objectives.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver regular, clear progress reports and address issues

Education:

  • Significant experience in Project Management and Supervision is mandatory, whilst estimating experience and working with estimating teams are sought after skills.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid driver’s license is mandatory, and appropriate certification for equipment operation will be highly advantageous.
  • Any additional industry-specific certifications (e.g., HSE, environmental management) will be considered an asset.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or a related field will be highly regarded.
